Hall of Holdings: Stewards of Land and Legacy
“To own is to endure. To endure is to serve the Flame.”
Role in the Ember Court
The Hall of Holdings manages the lifeblood of Ironspire’s dominion—its lands, titles, estates, and claims. It is both a noble lineage and a bureaucratic powerhouse, overseeing property rights, urban development, noble inheritance, zoning, and the registration of all estate transfers.
It is said that every stone touched by flame has a ledger in the Hall of Holdings. This Hall ensures that noble bloodlines, merchant guilds, and even humble commoners have their claims recorded, taxed, or disputed according to Ember Law.
The Hall is also responsible for maintaining the Registry of Transfer, a magically sealed tome updated via flame-scribed glyphs and stewarded by a permanent order of Ashscribes.
Leadership & Structure
✸ Archduke / Archduchess of Holdings
The head of the Hall. This figure is often a land baron or heiress with deep ties to urban and rural factions. Their voice carries weight in matters of expansion, borders, and noble inheritance disputes.
✸ Steward of the Embermark (Land)
One of several Stewards tasked with regions of Ironspire. The Land Steward handles redistribution, zoning, and the creation of new wards, halls, and estates.
✸ Ashscribes of Claim
Magical clerks who record and seal property deeds in flame-marked ink. They are feared and revered, for to cross them is to risk landlessness.
✸ Docketmasters
They oversee real estate inspections, market stall licensing, and transfer disputes. Their ledgers are legally binding.
