The Dragonblood Clan

The Dragonblood Clan

“In our veins, the fire of origin still burns.”

Overview

The Dragonblood Clan is the ancestral heart of the Drakari — a revered faction devoted to the legacy, discipline, and mysticism of dragonkind. While many carry the blood of dragons, the Clan alone preserves the ancient rites and cultural memory that bind the Drakari to their mythic roots.

The Clan exists apart from Ironspire’s political machinery, yet its influence runs deep. It is not merely a family or race — it is a sacred order, sworn to uphold the balance between flame and flesh, memory and might.

Purpose & Pillars

The Dragonblood Clan serves as:

  • Guardians of the Sacred Sites, including draconic ruins, altars, and ancient forges
  • Stewards of Prophecy, especially concerning the Mirrored Flame
  • Flamekeepers, maintaining the rituals of Emberkindling and Flamebonding
  • Mentors and Trialsmasters, guiding young Drakari in their transformations

Structure & Roles

The Clan is led by an Emberfather or Embermother, the eldest fireborn among them. Their word is law, but always delivered with reverence for tradition.

Beneath them:

  • Flamebinders – those who officiate bonding and hatching rites
  • Lorebraziers – historians, archivists, and memory-keepers
  • Wyrmguard – warrior elite who protect sacred places and clan heirs
  • Ashborn – young Drakari in training, unproven but watched

Each member of the Clan earns their place through trial, not blood alone. Even those born of the purest lineage must face the fire.

Beliefs & Mysticism

The Dragonblood Clan holds:

  • That dragons are not extinct, but ascended
  • That flame is more than heat — it is the soul’s essence
  • That transformation is sacred, painful, and inevitable
  • That the Mirrored Flame will return balance to the world

They do not worship dragons — they are dragons, in part or in whole, and live in honor of what they might one day become.

Relationship to Other Factions

  • The Druidic Order – ancient allies, bonded through respect for natural power
  • The Ironhowl MC – occasional collaborators, especially where prophecy is involved
  • The Irontide Syndicate – tolerated, but mistrusted for their chaotic nature
  • The Vampire Houses – enemies by necessity; dragons and undead cannot coexist in peace
  • The Ember Court – wary respect; the Clan existed long before the Court was crowned

Joining the Clan

The Dragonblood Clan rarely accepts outsiders. To join, one must:

  • Carry proven Drakari blood — or awaken it through ordeal
  • Undergo the Trial of Flame without fleeing the pain
  • Swear the Oath of the Embers, binding soul to sky

Those who pass become Ashkind. Few rise further. Even fewer survive the final rite — becoming full Flameborn.

To walk with the Dragonblood Clan is to walk toward the fire, knowing it may claim you — or crown you.
